Cantrip has officially become Twitter’s first certified cannabis advertiser after the social media platform’s recent policy change.

On Wednesday, Boston, Massachussets-based Cantrip announced that it had secured a certified advertising account with Twitter.

Cantrip says that while other companies have talked about advertising on Twitter, it has become the first to do so.

According to the company, CEO Adam Terry was the first to receive news that they had obtained Twitter ad certification.

In a press release, Terry says the company is excited about Twitter’s new relaxed cannabis advertising policies.

Terry notes that the company is small, with no celebrity endorsements or big backers.

But Terry says Cantrip has experienced pushback on advertising platforms, even though the company is fully compliant with the law.

“As a scrappy startup without major backing or celebrity connection, Cantrip is excited by Twitter’s new policy,” says Terry. “Since being one of the first companies to launch a hemp-beverage DTC platform under Minnesota’s new law, Cantrip has been turned away by most traditional advertisers despite their full compliance with the 2018 Farm Bill.”

Terry says that Twitter’s new cannabis advertising policy gives Cantrip a customer reach they don’t have anywhere else.

He explains that the platform allows them to communicate with consumers and assist them in finding the products they need.

“Twitter will allow a small company like us to reach many we would otherwise never be able to talk to and help millions find the product that works for them,” says Terry. “We thank Twitter for leading this important issue and hope to see other media companies follow suit.”

Cantrip says it designs its beverages with consumers in mind and has worked tirelessly to deliver the right effects.

The company says its sodas and seltzers offer a more-accessible and social experience than traditional edibles.

Cantrip says its low and high-dose products can deliver THC effects within ten to twenty minutes.

Cantrip’s product list and a map of locations that carry its products are available on the company website.
