Major League Baseball and cannabis are coming together at Wrigley Field after an announcement from MYND Drinks on Friday.

MYND will be the first cannabidiol (CBD) brand to sign with an MLB club under a new partnership with the Chicago Cubs.

MYND’s beverages became eligible for the partnership after receiving the NSF Certified for Sport designation.

MLB says MYND’s beverages underwent a thorough approval process and met the highest safety standards.

MLB opened the CBD category for the league and its clubs in early 2022.

In October, Charlotte’s Web Holdings, Inc. became the first CBD company to partner with MLB in a multi-year deal.

Through the partnership, MYND will have various in-ballpark signage elements and in-game features at Wrigley Field.

MYND will also have 2023 regular season international marketing rights in the United Kingdom.

To celebrate the new partnership and help Cubs fans relax, the Cubs will release a guided meditation on YouTube.

Cubs radio play-by-play announcer Pat Hughes will provide the narration.

The Cubs will also release a Sounds of Wrigley Field playlist on Spotify.

“When MLB opened the CBD category for its clubs, it allowed us to explore new partnership opportunities and offerings,” says Chicago Cubs VP of Corporate Partnerships Alex Seyferth. “We’re proud to be the first club to partner with a CBD company, but what was more important to us was making sure that the brand was the right fit. MYND DRINKS is a Chicago-based company that promotes overall wellness and helps ease the stressors of everyday life, just like a Friday 1:20 game at Wrigley Field.”

MYND says its 100% plant-based, hemp-infused wellness and recovery drinks help people relax, refresh, and recover.

Currently, the award-winning beverage line includes Elderberry Passionfruit, Orange Mango and Lemon Ginger flavors.

“We are so thrilled and honored to announce our partnership with the legendary Chicago Cubs,” says MYND CEO Simon Allen. “And that they share our vision of health and wellness in major league sports.”

Beyond Wrigley Field, MYND beverages are available at the company website and select Chicagoland retailers.
