If you’re not a chocolate eater, this review might not be for you, but I won’t stop you from reading.

To be clear, I am a big fan; I’ve always liked chocolate.

Chocolate is a wonderful flavor that goes with so many delicious things, not all of them sweet.

But today, the chocolate infusion I’m talking about is quite sweet, but not overly so, just about right.

Gelato recently sent me one of their Milk Chocolate with Almonds bars, infused with hybrid live resin.

I have broad tastes when it comes to food, and chocolate is no exception.

Because chocolate pairs so well with other flavors, it’s in a wide variety of confections, and I love them all.

But they must be made with good chocolate, which Gelato’s is, in flavor and quality.

And keeping in step with quality, the cocoa Gelato uses to hand-make its artisanal chocolate is fair trade.

Keeping it Quality

In modern chocolates, confectioners use a variety of ingredients, some of which aren’t traditional, like corn syrup and soy.

But Gelato keeps it clean and simple, leaving out the corn and soy.

The bar I got had just six ingredients–sugar, cocoa butter, milk powder, cocoa beans, sunflower lecithin, and vanilla.

Confectioners commonly use soy lecithin as a common emulsifier in chocolate, including edible varieties.

Soy is one of the more prolific GMO crops in the United States, next to corn.

According to the FDA website, 94 percent of all soybeans planted in 2020 were GMO.

However, concern exists over an abundance of soy in modern food products and the potential long-term physiological repercussions.

Also, some people are allergic to soy, and the chemicals used for soybean processing probably don’t help things either.

But Gelato has opted for sunflower lecithin instead of the more common soy variety.

In addition to being hypoallergenic and more likely to be organic, sunflower lecithin has potential health benefits.

It also does not need chemicals for processing.

Delicious and Effective

The bar I received was smooth, sweet, and creamy, lacking the potentially unpleasant tang that can come from other chocolates.

Combined with almonds and live resin cannabis oil, Gelato’s chocolate bar is delicious and effective.

In fact, I’ve been tasting as I’ve been writing, and now the rest of the bar is gone.

It was difficult to stop eating.

I found the chocolate bar’s hybrid effects to be a pleasant balance of mental clarity & energy with relaxation.

The confection’s top-notch quality and effects make it an easy edible recommendation.

Aside from the bar that I tried, Gelato makes other varieties like Milk Chocolate Caramel and Sea Salt Dark Chocolate.

As with other chocolates, Gelato’s bars are perfect for s’mores or anything else you might use chocolate in.

But they’re just a little more special with the cannabinoid boost that they bring.

Each bar contains 100mg of THC and is segmented for easy dosing.

And remember, you can always eat more, but you can never eat less.

Gelato’s products are currently available in California and Michigan.
