The founder of a California-based veterans-minded cannabis company will speak on the benefits of cannabis for vets during an upcoming webinar.
Helmand Valley Growers Company (HVGC) founder Bryan Buckley will be speaking during the Wednesday, November 9 installment of the Farmacy Cannabis Lecture Series.
Buckley will share his story and talk about how cannabis can help veterans who sustained injuries while serving their country.
Buckley is a Bronze Star and Purple Heart recipient who served as a Special Operations Team Commander with the Marine Raiders.
“Veteran communities have been adversely affected by the opioid epidemic that has claimed countless lives in our country,” states a press release. “Upon return to the United States from the military, over half will become dependent/addicted. This has caused far too many vets to lose their way, and in an ever-increasing pandemic, take their own lives.”
After his service, which included leading teams in Africa, Southeast Asia, Helmand Province, and Iraq, Buckley founded HVGC with two other Marine Raiders vets.
Healing for Veterans
Aware of the changes veterans face from their battlefield experiences, HVGC focuses on ending the epidemic and providing holistic tools for wounded brothers and sisters.
HVCG says sometimes the wounds are not visible to the naked eye.
With helping vets at the center of its mission, HVGC donates all profits to promoting veteran health through cannabis.
Earlier this year, HVGC pledged support for the World Central Kitchen.
In addition to Buckley’s talk on the webinar next week, HVGC will host a Veteran’s Day pop-up at Coastal Wellness in Vista, California, on Friday, November 11.
Attendees can meet the HVGC team and enjoy the event’s games, raffles, food, and special deals.
All HVGC products will be BOGO for the day.
Additional brands representing at the event will include Stiiizy, Level, and Revenant.
Local community groups Veterans Walk and Talk and VetArt will also be present.
