This month, companies, groups, and significant individuals are meeting in Lansing for a cannabis harvest rally.

On Thursday, Michigan Weedsters announced the Michigan Cannabis Harvest Rally on Tuesday, October 11, at the Capitol Building steps.

According to a press release, the rally focuses on educating lawmakers, media, and the cannabis community on pressing issues regarding state cannabis policies.

The policies include the 2008 Michigan Medical Marihuana Act (MMMA), the 2018 Michigan Regulation and Taxation of Marihuana Act (MRTMA), and the 2016 Medical Marihuana Facilities Licensing Act (MMFLA).

Since 1963, Michigan voters have passed only eight voter initiatives, two of which were the MMMA and MRTMA.

Michigan Weedsters says legislative action, inaction, administrative failures, and a shrinking medical cannabis program threaten MMMA and MRTMA.

Tuesday’s rally will feature more than 30 experts, including medical professionals, business owners, patients, veterans, caregivers, attorneys, and senators.

“Consumers, companies, patients, caregivers, veterans, and many more make up the Michigan Cannabis Community,” says Michigan Weedsters Director Latrisha Matson. “For the majority of those covered by the umbrella, 2022 has been a difficult year. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn about all of the current challenges in Michigan at the Michigan Cannabis Harvest Rally.”

Speakers will cover topics like cannabis convictions, expungement, lab testing, market oversaturation, and drug testing.

Michigan Weedsters says there will be a discussion on Jayden’s Law and how children who use medical cannabis do not have the same rights as others at school who need medication.

In addition to education, networking, and workshops, the rally will feature food trucks and entertainment from Les Older and Tom Wall of Cosmic Knot.

The rally begins at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 11, at the Michigan Capitol Building steps.
