Two months after Connecticut launched its adult-use cannabis market, Curaleaf has started sales in the capital city of Hartford.
Currently, no other dispensaries are selling adult-use cannabis in the city.
Connecticut began adult-use cannabis sales in January, approximately a year-and-a-half after Governor Ned Lamont signed SB 1201.
The state also erased thousands of low-level cannabis convictions on January 1, as the state launched legal sales.
Curaleaf commenced adult-use sales at its Hartford dispensary this morning, following its Stamford location, which started them in January.
The company’s other shops in Milford and Groton currently have medical cannabis-only licenses.
Curaleaf says it intends to obtain adult-use licenses for the Milford and Groton shops after securing regulatory approval.
“Curaleaf is well positioned to serve Connecticut’s quickly expanding needs for both the adult-use and medical markets,” says Curaleaf CEO Matt Darin. “We continue to expand our product offerings, and our knowledgeable team provides our patients and customers with guidance and education on how cannabis can meet their wellness and lifestyle needs.”
The company says the Hartford and Stamford shops carry a diverse assortment of cannabis goods and services.
The shops’ product selections include Select Elite vapes, whole flowers, pre-rolls, and a variety of other items.
Curaleaf shops also have a revamped rewards program where customers can earn loyalty points for every dollar they spend.
Customers can use loyalty points to save on future purchases at Curaleaf-operated dispensaries.
Curaleaf says existing medical patients will have priority access to the Hartford shop through a dedicated entrance.
Medical patients have quicker check-ins with dedicated staff and a separate line for checkout.
Patients will also retain access to Curaleaf’s Compassionate Care Plan, pharmacy team, and consultation rooms.
On Friday, March 3, Curaleaf Hartford will host a celebration in honor of its adult-use cannabis sales launch.
Festivities will include complimentary food & drinks, music, product discounts, and vendor-sponsored giveaways.
