If you’re looking to try cannabis but not sure where to start, a Texas company might be able to help with some free edibles.

Austin-based Hometown Hero CBD has free samples of its Select Spectrum gummies for the canna-curious and the experienced user.

Hometown Hero started its free samples program around October 2021 in accordance with state and federal regulations.

“Much like Delta-8, Select Spectrum is legal on a federal level due to the 2018 Farm Bill,” states the Hometown Hero CBD website. “However, it is compliant with more state laws than Delta-8. Select Spectrum is legal because its cannabinoids are hemp-derived, and the Delta-9 THC concentration on a dry weight basis is below the 0.3% limit.”

While each sample gummy contains 10mg of hemp-derived cannabidiol (CBD), they come in two different delta-9 tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) concentrations.

People who have never used cannabis before will probably want to try the 10mg sample, but more experienced users may want to try the 25mg sample.

If a HomeTown Hero gummy is the first cannabis product you’ve tried, you will want to start with a small amount to gauge your THC tolerance.

For most beginners, 10mg, 5mg, or 2.5mg doses are generally appropriate, though it can vary depending on the individual.

If you want to start with a small dose, you can cut an edible into pieces to reduce potency per serving.

In the words of Medicinal Mike, you can always eat more, but you can never eat less.

But while the gummy samples are free, there is a shipping fee, which is currently $3.50.

If you request, receive, and enjoy your sample gummy, consider purchasing additional Hometown Hero products as they will help support worthy causes.

Since 2015, Hometown Hero has donated a portion of its proceeds to nonprofit organizations that assist veterans with things like transportation to medical appointments and mortgage-free homes.
