A Canadian pharmaceutical-grade cannabis processing equipment manufacturer has released a new grinder for smaller producers.
On Tuesday, Surrey, British Columbia-based Mobius Trimmer revealed its new M60 Mill, which offers industrial mill precision and grind quality at a lower cost.
According to Mobius, the new M60 Mill utilizes technology from its flagship M210 mill, using slow rotational speeds to minimize heat degradation.
Mobius says the machines have precision cutting matrixes to maintain consistent particle sizes without sacrificing THC.
The company notes that inconsistent grinds can negatively affect pre-roll packing, burning, and the cone’s structural integrity during transport and consumption.
“We’re excited to fit full-scale technology into our Mobius M60 Mill,” says Mobius Director of Strategy Amanda James in a press release. “It empowers smaller pre-roll and extract producers to achieve a top-quality grind at a much lower price point.”
Consistency in a Crowded Market
Mobius says brands must deliver consistent quality in the crowded pre-roll market sector.
According to Mobius, conventional cannabis mills destroy cannabinoids with heat.
The mills that Mobius builds have low-friction internal mechanisms, which the company says prevent heat buildup, optimizing potency and smokeability.
Other M60 features include 1/16”, 1/8”, and 3/16″ grind sizes, tool-free disassembly, easy maintenance, and GMP-readiness.
Even with the M60’s small size, Mobius says it can grind up to 20 pounds of dry cannabis flowers per hour.
“At 20 pounds per hour, the Mobius M60 Mill will serve a wide range of established licenses, as well as market entrants looking to access the pre-roll niche,” says James. “We’re shipping the new units starting this week.”
Mobius says the machine’s grind rate allows small and medium-sized pre-roll producers to thrive in a constantly-growing market.
According to Mobius, smaller extractors can benefit from the M60’s grind consistency, which improves cannabinoid-extraction completion rates, oil yield percentages, and revenue.
