The PBC Conference is coming to Washington D.C. in September, and keynote speakers will focus on black & gray markets.

PBC Co-Founder Peter Joukov will moderate the conference’s keynote panel, which will feature regulators from different states with legal cannabis.

The lineup includes Nicole Elliot (Department of Cannabis Control, California), Tremaine Wright (New York State Cannabis Control Board), Paul Isaac (Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation), Adria Berry (Oklahoma Medical Marijuana Authority), and Ava Callen Concepcion (Massachusetts Cannabis Control Commission).

Past PBC speakers have included legislators, IRS commissioners, banking regulators, cannabis regulators, and other federal and state legislators and regulators.

In states with legal cannabis, illicit sales can hinder the success of those markets, as states like California can confirm.

Keynote panel speakers will share how they have addressed illicit markets and their impact on businesses and supporting financial institutions.

The conference expects to draw more than 600 executives and influential thought leaders to the fourth installment of its two-day conference.

“One of the key differentiators that our community members bring up about PBC is the number of regulators and legislators that we have attending and participating in our PBC Conference,” says PBC Conference CEO Joshua Radbod. “PBC was built on the premise that industry and government need to work together to move the cannabis industry forward, and we are proud to be a part of the industry’s journey.”

During the conference, attendees and speakers will network and discuss cannabis industry challenges, like banking, payments, and compliance.

In addition to panel sessions, the conference features an exhibit area and PBC-hosted happy hours where attendees can discuss, learn, and network.

Registration is now open for PBC 2023, which will happen at the Capital Hilton Hotel in Washington D.C., September 21-23.
