Sterling Founder Joe Kryszak’s life changed after a cancer diagnosis, but he says cannabidiol (CBD) was instrumental in his survival.

Kryszak founded the company in 2020 after leaving a successful corporate American career.

Running is one of Kryszak’s favorite forms of exercise, but he started to experience cramps in his calf after short distances.

Kryszak and his team at Sterling developed a magnesium-infused CBD balm for relief.

Sterling says it sources its magnesium from the Dead Sea, a source of ingredients for many popular health products.

“After finding out I had an aggressive form of bladder cancer, my doctor told me that running saved my life,” says Kryszak. “The impact from running had damaged a cancerous mass; using CBD allowed me to keep running and for my cancer to be discovered.”

Kryszak says the root of the cancer was a millimeter from his muscle and could have easily spread and become stage four.

Kryszak underwent a cystectomy and chemotherapy treatments in 2020 and 2021 to eradicate his cancer.

“I created a product that helped save my life,” says Kryszak. “And I continue to use the balm to this day.”

Sterling says Kryszak was either “sick in bed or on the bathroom floor” during his six months of chemotherapy.

According to the company, Kryszak’s CBGA (cannabigerolic acid) and CBDA (cannabidiolic acid) regimen helped keep him hydrated and was the only thing that made him feel better.

“Thanks to CBD, I was able to help calm my symptoms and allow my body to relax,” says Kryszak. “The effects it had on my life were a miracle.”
