Multi-state cannabis company Curaleaf has begun serving adult-use customers in Illinois and opened a new dispensary in Massachusetts.

Last week, Curaleaf announced that it had moved its Deerfield dispensary to a new location at 677 Lake Cook Road.

Curaleaf also expanded the dispensary’s operations to serve adult-use customers.

The company says it will provide premium products for adult-use customers while continuing to serve patients in the Illinois medical cannabis program.

Curaleaf says there are additional measures at the new location to prioritize medical patients.

Measures include a secure online ordering system and curbside pickup for medical patients only.

The dispensary held a soft opening on October 13, but is having an official grand opening today with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 9:50 a.m.

Grand opening festivities include giveaways and limited-time discounts.

“As we expand access to high quality cannabis products and service, we’re excited to open the doors to adult-use customers at our new location in Deerfield,” says Curaleaf CEO Matt Darin. Curaleaf remains committed to Illinois state medical patients, as demonstrated by our convenient curbside pickup option, which enables our team to provide a streamlined cannabis retail experience exclusively for medical patients.”

A New Maryland Dispensary

On Wednesday, Curaleaf celebrated opening a new dispensary in Frederick, Maryland.

Curaleaf says the dispensary, which sits at 5420 Urbana Pike, opened following a license transfer of a Herbology location.

Curaleaf previously acquired the shop in a Grassroots acquisition.

According to the company, the new dispensary’s location enables it to meet the diverse needs of the growing patient population in Maryland.

The shop carries a diverse selection of Curaleaf vaporizers, edibles, concentrates, and whole flower products.

Patients can shop in-person at the store or order online and pick up their purchases at the curb.

To celebrate the dispensary’s opening, Curaleaf and the Frederick Chamber of Commerce will hold festivities from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday, October 21.

Festivities include a DJ, games, prizes, live art auction, food trucks, swag giveaways, and a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 3 p.m.

Patients will also receive a 25 percent discount at the new shop for two weeks following the grand opening.

Starting on Saturday, October 22, patients can enter to win $500 in Cura-credits, good at any Maryland Curaleaf location.

“We are thrilled to welcome patients and build community in our new Frederick dispensary,” says Darin. “Our team in Maryland remains committed to providing a tailored, education al approach to meeting the diverse needs of patients at every stage of their cannabis journey. We are especially optimistic about the future of Maryland’s cannabis market with the Marijuana Legalization Amendment on the ballot this November.”
