A burgling duo robbed a Maine dispensary last week, making off with only some empty packaging and fake gummies.

On Saturday, News Center Maine reported that two burglars broke into Sweet Dirt early on Friday, November 25.

Sweet Dirt is an adult-use and medicinal cannabis dispensary at 1207 Forest Avenue in Portland.

The brand also has three other locations in Waterville, Bridgeton, and Rockland.

According to Portland Police Department Detective Lieutenant Robert Martin, the burglary occurred shortly after midnight.

But while the burglars caused some damage to the store, they did not leave with anything of value.

According to News Center Maine, the pair took fake gummies and packaging but nothing that contained THC.

News Center Maine reports that the dispensary had locked all the for-sale products with THC in a safe.

The fake gummies and empty packaging had been in display cases, which the burglars broke open and raided.

The Sweet Dirt dispensary remained closed for much of Saturday as workers spent the day cleaning the shop.

The police are continuing their investigation of the burglary, but as of Sunday, officers had not apprehended any suspects.

News Center Maine says anyone with information regarding the burglary should contact the Portland Police Department.
