If you’re a fan of professional wrestling and cannabis and live in Michigan, Friday has something in store for you.

On Friday, Cloud Cannabis’ Detroit shop will host a meet-and-greet with pro wrestling superstar Ric Flair, a.k.a. The Nature Boy.

Flair’s appearance is to celebrate the Michigan launch of the Ric Flair Drip Cannabis line, produced by Mike Tyson’s TYSON 2.0.

The company launched in Nevada, Illinois, and Arizona in October 2022.

At Friday’s launch, the line will include eighths of cannabis flower, vapes, and pre-rolls.

Available varieties will include The Ultimate Recovery (Indica), Making You the World Champion of Your Empire (Sativa), and Keeping You Wheelin’ and Dealin’ (Hybrid).

“We’re in town to party,” says Flair. “And you, our elite world champions, are invited to join. Our cannabis line was built for the wheelin’, dealin’, jet flyin’, premium cannabis aficionados of Michigan that are stylin’, profilin’, and ready o attack their day. Ric Flair Drip will make you say ‘WOOOOO!’ with heavy strains intended to tap out any opponent. And our friends at Cloud will help you find the right product to elevate your state of mine.”

Athletes and Cannabis

With the October launch, Flair joined cannabis industry veterans and WWE alumni Rob Van Dam and The Godfather.

Athletes venturing into the cannabis space is a growing trend as more stories of healing and comfort have emerged.

As legalization has increased, more athletes are using cannabis rather than opioids to treat injuries and relieve pain.

Even though some may have done so even before it was legal.

Flair says cannabis gummies helped him phase out Xanax and Ambien, which he began using in 1989 as sleep aids.

“It’s highly recommend that to anybody,” Flair told the New York Post. “People eat Xanax like candy.”

Flair says it took him eight weeks to ween himself off the drugs.

“Ric is a cultural icon and hero to many, and we are proud to host the Nature Boy himself at our Detroit location to meet with his fans,” says Cloud Cannabis Co-Founder Jacob Saboo. “With the Ric Flair Drip Cannabis line coming to Michigan, our customers will get access to a suite of first-class products that evoke the spirit and energy Ric is known for. The launch adds another layer to our premier retail experience and helps to further our goal of elevating the health and happiness of Michigan consumers.”

Cloud Cannabis will be open from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Friday, and medical patients will receive a 10% discount.

Ric Flair’s meet-and-greet will take place 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
